Of course, just because it was Dynamix before and now doesn't mean that any of the same people worked on both games. :)

However, I found my Mechwarrior I manual, and compared names with my Earthsiege manual. It looks like two of the five MW1 team members worked also on Earthsiege: Paul Bowman and Cyrus Kanga.

Given that ES was less deserving a MW1 successor than Mech2, despite the same origins, it could be the original team members that _didn't_ work on ES that made the difference: Damon Slye, Mark Brenneman, and Kobi Miller. I think I've heard Slye's name mentioned in revered terms as the designer of several recent sim games, so perhaps he had a lot to do with it. Who knows.
