Fathers and Families for Liberty Father's Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day, President's Day
(Introduction, from Jeff Head)
The efforts to further infringe upon our 2nd amendment rights to self defense and firearms have been escalating in the recent months. A veritable chorus of voices are being presented to us by political pundits and the main stream media in an effort to convince us that it would be "best for the children" to further restrict firearm use and sales to honest, law-abiding citizens.
History is littered with the ashes of societies and peoples who have bought into this unsubstantiated and foolish claim. Firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens in this nation save the lives of many, many more innocent people than they take ... orders of magnitude more. Common sense dictates that the best time to defend one's self is while being attacked. Criminals have no respect for law, life or liberty ... and they will not wait upon the response to 911.
Responsible firearm ownership and use are one of the great hallmarks for American liberty and our unprecedented peace and prosperity as a people.
On this Father's Day, June 18, 2000, and on EVERY ENSUING FATHER'S DAY and at other times throughout the year, let us stand as father's for family and liberty. Let us stand with our wives, brothers, sisters, children, relatives and friends. Let us send 50 million rounds down range collectively at firing ranges all over this nation to demonstrate our resolve and the true meaning of our 2nd amendment rights. Let us photograph those events and, in the words of a patriot for whom I have great respect, J.J. Johnson, let us , "participate in establishing a 50 Million Round Gallery - photos of real men from around the country with their lawful weaponry and their progeny who will keep and bear them - regardless of any act passed from this point forward."
And, finally, let those politicians, pundits, individuals, institutions and any others who wish to restrict that right take note and receive the message of our commitment and resolve ... 50 million rounds ... 50 million rounds within a couple of hours in simple target practice ... 50 MILLION ROUNDS!
The National Rifle Association (NRA) does a fairly rabid job of talking and asking for money, but spends a lot of time compromising on gun control laws. You can't compromise on a right and win, for each compromise takes away part of a right, which should never be touched at all.
